Yesterday, I spent the afternoon sewing (which I have not done in SO LONG). And it was fantastic! I decided that my first project back needed to be simple, and this was a nice way to “nest” .

I only have a photo, of one burp cloth, and it was taken with my phone…I know…Sorry….

I will take a snap shot tonight of them all, and change the photo out.

So what do you think? Does anyone else have any other easy projects I can do, that will ease my urge to nest?

But I thought I would start today…

17 Weeks

 Baby Butler is around 5 Inches and 5 Ounces….roughly

Update:

How far along? 17 Weeks
Total weight gain/loss: Up about 5 pounds
Stretch marks? Nope – not yet!

Sleep: Good!

Movement: I think I have started feeling movement…its been they same feeling everyday for the past 4 days.

Food cravings: Nothing consistent

Gender: We will find out this Friday!

Labor Signs: NO!!!
Belly Button in or out? In

What I miss: Wine and lunch mean
What I am looking forward to: Finding out the sex
Milestones: Feeling the baby move.

On Valentines Day, Scott and I found out that we are expecting our first child. I don’t think either one of use could be more thrilled. It was the perfect day to find out…and so far it has been an amazing feeling.

I am currently only 8 Weeks. But last Friday we were able to see the baby. The technician said everything looked great, and he/she had a heart rate of 153 BPM. Here are some of the photos they gave us:

There is no doubt that our “To-Do List” for the house just jumped up in priority. I am one of those people who will need everything in order, ready, clean and thought out before the baby arrives. Hopefully 7 Months will give us plenty of time to get ready!

No more waking up cold, or going to bed cold. No more spending 350.00 a month on our heating bill. I’ve had it!!

We have an older house, so it’s not insulated that well. Well i’ve waken up cold for the last time. I am going to Lowes on my lunch break, and I will be buying some insulation!

I’m going to take it home, and convince Scott / beg Scott to put it up that moment.

Hopefully it will help with the frozen noses…but also our wallets!!

I am one of the “lucky” people. I am fortunate to have every Friday- Saturday and Sunday off (well at least for now). Since I have a few more weeks left of this schedule, I want to make the most of it. Here is my weekend action plan.

Friday-

1) Have new television delivered!

2) work on reorganizing upstairs room **Pictures to come**

3) Help hubby pack and get ready for his “trip”

4) Clean the house….top to bottom!!

5) Hang some art that we got for Christmas.

—More then doable….

Saturday-

1) Have television installed *wahoo!!*

2) Finish work on the extra bedroom, and begin working on organizing the office

3) Travel 3 hours to celebrate my fathers birthday, and join my family to wish my Big Sister Tasha “All the best” (She is moving to North Carolina, for a new job)

4) RELAX (Not sure that I truly “need” or “deserve” it…but hey, i’m not going to complain!)

Sunday-

1) Go to church

2) Travel the 3 hours back home

3) finish all the cleaning and organizing around the home

4) Go grocery shopping for the week

5) Again, get house ready for when Scott gets home….so we can both veg in front of the TV Monday night….**He has been looking forward to this TV for sometime, and he really deserves it!**

Here is the first layout that I came up with:

I  do not know what to do with the space directly across from the toilet. Any thoughts???

I Want the shower to look like its Built in, so it will be surrouned by sheetroc, except for the door? Should the door maybe face the wall of the closet? This might help with getting out wet, and getting the floor wet…Save the wet socks?

There will be storage on the wall in between the two sinks, and storage all underneath the two sinks. I want the counter to be an L shape. Where the door meets the counter, it will be a small vanity area, with additional storage.

As of now we do not have a bathroom in the upstairs of our home (where 3 of the 4 bedrooms are). The good news? There is an empty room, just for a bathroom. It sits right in between the master bedroom, and the future nursery.

We would like to turn it into a bathroom, and walk in closet (for scott and myself)

Here is the current layout:

I am going to work on my first ever “Vision” or “Mood” board, to try to come up with something beautiful and reasonable for the bathroom. I also need to figure out the layout of the bathroom and walk in closet. I think there will be enough room…..we’ll see.

I’ll post as soon as I come up with some arrangement options.

Any helpful Ideas or tips??

BUT- I have not completely failed, we have meals for almost the entire week. So here goes- 

Monday- Homemade macaroni and cheese 

Tuesday- Ham, potatoes, and peas 

Wednesday- Chicken salad sandwiches, salad 

Thursday- Leftovers (if there are any) 

Once you decided you wanted to conceive, what type of preparations did you start making?  

Financial, physical, home, etc.

Friday- Pizza. Possibly homemade, with our new pizza oven, but most likely delivery 

Saturday- Wont be home for dinner 

Sunday- French onion soup, and Scotts famous roast beef sandwiches.

“Cheers to a new year and another chance for us to get it right. ” ~~ ??

Every year I make a new years resolution but it never works. I think it’s because I never make resolutions that I really want to accomplish. Every year I say I am going to stop cursing…but do I really truly want to stop? Nope, I dont…so by mid day January 1st- I have already sworn. But this year, I have some changes that I really truly want to fullfill. And I think I have the motivation, and resources to make them happen. So here they are:

1. Scott and I are blessed that we don’t really live paycheck to paycheck. But we also are not by any means living the “high” life. Overall, I (we) have a good sense of how much and where our money goes every month, but I want to get our finances completely under control. I am an excel junky, and have created a spreadsheet that not only will be useful, but I enjoy working with. And I had planned on using only this once Jan 1st rolls around. BUT my Mother and Father in law got me Neat Receipts as one of my Christmas gifts, and it is AMAZING!! So I will be using both excel and the neat receipts. And once I have the excel spreadsheet completely worked out, I will post it, and anyone who would like it can use it.

1. I really want to get our house organized. We moved in 6 months ago- and the organizing and sorting went out the window as our wedding quickly approached. I want to create a “home” for each item in our house.
2.  I want to finish all of our little projects, before we start tackling more rooms.
3.  I will start eating healthier
4.  I will begin our own vegetable garden this spring
5.  I will use my sewing machine…and have successful projects!
6.  I want to get much better about eating leftovers, and taking breakfast / lunch everyday.
7. And if you have noticed the numbering **I would really like to get better at using / understanding WordPress**
8. I would like to start meal planning a week in advance. I hate last-minute runs to the grocery store.
9. Scott is the cook in the family, but I want to start baking more. Get a little more adventurous in the kitchen.

There are more- But I think that 10 goals is good enough….anything more I will consider icing on the cake!

Happy New Year Everyone!!!

It has been a whirlwind of a month! It has also been the best month of my life. Scott and I are officially married, we are back from our amazing honeymoon, and we made it through Christmas! When we arrived back home, our house was still standing, the heat working and there was very little snow to deal with. What else could we ask for?

I have no words to describe how amazing our wedding was. Everything went off without a hitch. It felt / was magical. There is nothing I would change. I hope I never forget the way it felt when the doors opened and I saw my groom. Or how it felt when he took my hand,  and one of my favorite moments- when we kissed and the snow confetti cannons went off in the church! The list could go on and on…

The honeymoon was also amazing. A 10 day cruise down the Panama Canal. We were gone a total of 12 days. It was fantastic being away and soaking up being called “Mr and Mrs Butler” every morning, but it was also nice to come home.
